ToonBoom Animate
I am slowly making the change to ToonBoom Animate from Flash. It is an amazing program but not as easy to learn as flash. I sat down was determined to create a character from sketch, to ink/pain, Rig, Lip Sync, Ik, to Animating.
While I am far from done but almost exhausted beyond belief here is the result of that "determination"
So The Verdict? I think Animate's animation tools are Superior to Flash' but Flash Drawing Tools are way easier to work with. I say combine the 2 and it is the best program ever created.

Acknowledge of bothersome Ideas

Sometimes you have ideas or concepts in your brain that will not leave you alone until you at least acknowledge that fact that they exists. This one is one of those ideas. It is about a serial killer whom ... likes to kill ... in serial.

Girl design, or maybe templates?

Trying out some Photoshop Brushes
Recently I ran into a website called Creativemac and found these amazing photoshop brushes. These brushes by Dave nagel where done with the purpose of simulating the process of sketching with dry media. They are by far the best brushes I have tried for that purpose in Photoshop. For those of you who use Painter, or Sketchbook Pro because of those similar brush qualities will be surprised at how these brushes, which should already be included in PS, feel. The following sketches where done using these brushes...

Animating the Space girl (work in Progress)
I made this walk cycle (which is far from finished) following Animator's Survival Kit. I still need to add more frames in there to smooth it out a bit, the BG, and hair are temporary.

Creating A Sheriff/Outlaw
The Sketch was done in Sketchbook Pro and the inking and painting in Flash.
Here is my result after bringing it into flash ...

As you can see, once you have a basic sketch, all that is left is embellishing it as you go in Flash.

Storyboard frame

Hey everyone, Just wanted to post something since I have been posting very little. Here's a frame from a story board I was (am?) working on with a couple of friends. It is was to be a story about a guy who is terrorized by a Roach who seeks revenge for the massacre (squashing) of his entire family.

More Eric Characters

Well after over 9 months off, I am back and starting all over again. I just downloaded a trial version of Sketch book pro and sketched this version of Eric the Red which I like more than the ones I've done previous because I always envisioned him a little huskier. As for Sketch Book Pro it ROCKS!! I am going to buy it without question.

Looking for some Femme Fatales for Capt Sanchez
These are quick pen sketches done on regular notepad, then color was scribbled on their using Photoshop. I kind of like the grungy, unfinished look, thats why I dont really tighten up the colors and ink it. After all they are character studies right:)

The side view is in desperate need of work on this girls face. I used the same girl from MassExodus' design. I really want her to have an overbite, cause I think it looks cute.

These two girls I did .... just cause I can:), I'm kidding, just more studies.

Testing the Captain's Movements
I added a few small but important subtleties to our sanchez test here. Sanchez' character design is still in "development" (since I am stepping into the flash animation world I better start using the lingo) I am deffinately going to redraw that mechanical arm, I am thinking of changing the outfit up a bit into a more Retro Space-man suit.
Thanks for the visit, y'all come back now hear?

More Background practice
This one was done in Painter, which is a program I very seldom used. I like it, and will make an effort to learn it. This shot is actually from the Opening scene from Episode 1 of Eric the Red. It shows a Father Eskimo and his two kids caught in a snow storm.
Obviously inspired by Samurai jack/Retro bg's, although I am no expert and need alot of practice. I figure you got to start somewhere.

Speedlines Practice
I did this following the tutorial from How to Cheat in Flash CS3. Not really the best results but I think I can add this to my, "I know how to that" list.
